Global Entrepreneurship Management Support (GEMS) - International Agribusiness Marketing


An educational project sponsored by the Extension Service of the United States Department of Agriculture and the Cooperative Extension Service of selected land grant universities. Designed for "new to export firms" and instructors of basic export methods.

International Agribusiness Marketing: Concepts and Applications resource book, $40
Provides basic information on processes and procedures of international markets. Topics covered include: assessing export readiness, developing a market overview, cross-cultural analysis, international distribution and market entry, pricing strategies, methods of payment, risk analysis and management, sources of international market information, export terms of sale, advertising and promotion, export documentation, freight forwarding and insurance, and legal and tax considerations. In addition this resource book illustrates how to develop an international marketing plan, provides a financial analysis of an international marketing plan and includes a business directory of U.S. government resources.

Instrutor's Guide, $50
Provides a complete set of visual aids for teaching concepts and applications related to international marketing. This guide is designed for use with the above resource book. Charts, tables, instructional topic outlines and other information is provided.

Exporting Ag Products: "Strategies for Profit", $10
A 50 minute video tape divided into six sections: Why export?, Getting Started, Methods of Exporting, Developing your marketing plan, Pricing and shipping, and Getting paid.
Complete sets of the GEMS materials may be purchased for $90 (A set includes resource book, instructor's guide, and exporting video)
